Asian inspired, island based.
Born in Hilo, Hawaii on a sugarcane plantation and raised with Issei values (a grandson of Japanese immigrants). I took interest in photography at a very young age— being active in the community and taking both art & Japanese classes from elementary school helped to build a strong foundation to the style of my photography. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Indiana University, spent a few years living on Guam, then found myself back in Hawaii.
My wife and I have 3 kids, all graduated from college and off on their own already (makes me feel old?!). I’ve retired from teaching photography at a high school, and I still enjoy giving back to the community… especially through capturing special moments. I enjoy meeting new people and seeing new sites during my travels; my passion will always be landscape photography.
