Interlude…4

Our first RV trip…Day 4, the last full day

We’ll smile because it happened…

The Elwha River Dam had a few hiking trails, none of which we could find, but we did find time to appreciate the river and Koda appreciated the time to play.

Murdock Beach was a hidden gem, it was low tide when we arrived, allowing us to step, hop, and jump over puddles and patches of seaweed to explore the tide-pools. It was another pebbly beach, but filled with interesting rocks, granite, marble, sandstone, and other semi-precious stones, mostly agate and quartz.

We found interesting rocks...then found some more...and more...spent couple hours face down picking through decomposing seaweed, rotting branches, and sand fleas looking for semi-precious stones after talking to a local who said that agate and other gems abound the area...so guess why our luggage was heavy...

R&R was the afternoon agenda; Keri put in some work time and Debbie, Colin and Koda caught 4000 winks. Later, we hit the hammock to wile away the afternoon before an early dinner of steak and rice, then our trips' last sunset at Lake Crescent…no tears because it was the end, we smiled because it happened.

Day 5: was an early start to catch the ferry...pack up stuff not packed the night before, re-unhook-up, re-secure inside/outside, dump trash and tanks, hit the road...missed the ferry.

Epilogue: FUN! Great time exploring our national parks, even greater time discovering it together, we had fun...missed you Cameron Kubota!
